Botting AND Bans

My friends main account got banned along with his botting account for macroing. The only thing was; he never botted on his main. Is this a regular occurance? And is there a way to prevent this from happening?

They did a simple IP search, and showed no mercy.

How to prevent, be more careful, and don't use the same computer for both accounts.

They don't ban accounts on the same ip, they would only ban the account botting, your friend did something wrong.

he had to have bot or something on the main acc, they do check ur other accs via ip to see if that one was botting as well, but they dont ban 1 botted acc and 1 non botted acc with the same ip

No they don't ban by ip some guy could have been botting but his bro or sister was legit. So they don't do this.

No what happens is, if you bot 50k feathers and it's OBVIOUS, and you transfer it to your main. They ban the main for obvious reasons. That's why I made a transfering account

They might ban with IP. Because they have evidence that you use macros.

They ban legit people for no reason. I had a account ban with 1B worth of climbing boots for "Macroing" when I did it legit yet when I bot on my main 50hours+ and my skillers 5days+ 24/7ing they don't ban them :L

Their banning system is weird you can never be sure you won't get banned but you can undergo safety precautions to prevent it.

You like to believe your friend but he is either lieing or plays like a bot. If he truthfully never botted, then he should try to contact Jagex, but I doubt they would do anything. :/
