Blackhat or White-hat?

Hey everyone, Knight told me to post here for this so meh.

I am wondering, what is your views on the blackhat mentality as well as the whitehat one.

I think personally blackhats are here to make my day go by since without them there would be no whitehats. I personally know alot of blackhats and they are normal people, just with a bit of a "misguided" moral compass.

Post your opinions and don't flame others for their views please.

It is definitely easier to have the blackhat morality then the whitehat one. However there is the concept of that someone, somewhere, is getting fucked over by what you are doing.

That is a very true statement, most people stick with blackhat rather than whitehat since it is more of a "shortcut"

Exactly, and most of the time to make money as a whitehat you need to be 18+ and have a "degree" saying that you know what the heck you are talking about.

Well, I am no whitehat, but I'm not really a blackhat either. I'd say that I'm somewhere in-between black and gray. I implore the use of SQLi, XSS, XFS, and RFI but I don't think I've actually kept a site or defaced a site. It's just a fun challenge with the syntax sometimes, which I like.

On HF I am known as a white-hat. Everywhere else it falls more into greyhat.

What would you call hackers that hack black-hats? Not like white hats, but you send a counter virus to the black hat that hacked you?

In my eyes a 'White-hat' hacker is just a 'Black-hat' hacker with a moral concious. A 'White-hack' hacker alerting the websites about the exploits they have found while the 'Black-hat' hacker exploiting it for there own personal gain.

Are you implying that doing wrong can be countered by good? Maybe that might suit your conscious, but what if you stabbed someone and then planted a tree? Those don't seem to counter each other at all.

I would never physically harm someone and if I financially harmed someone I would work my ass off to help them back on their feet.

It depends how rich the person is. I'm not really one for safety. If they rich guy's an ass and I CAN hack one million dollars from him I would and then I would spread that wealth to people that are not as lucky. Like Robin Hood if you will.

That's like saying: I'd rather steal one orange from 1000 factories instead of stealing 1000 oranges from one factory. Now, who really wants 1000 oranges, but it's all circumstantial.

The real question is, how would you go about crushing them? I.E. A dump truck, massing them on a building and having a trigger for them to roll off, or maybe just tying someone up and throwing them at said person. (This seems off-topic)
This is an analogy for blackhat activity, planning how commit a crime, definitely what I was getting at here.

You guys are a silly and offtopic bunch, you know that? Back on the subject; I would much rather steal from that who is rich than that who is poor. I would also donate some of my earnings from that who is rich to that who is poor. I, however, am no ordinary thief. I prefer to use trickery so, in essence, they are willingly giving me their assets.
