As some one who went through that phase a few months ago I personally chose the marines.
If you want to get taken care of and after bootcamp be part of the whats known as the
best brotherhood I would suggest it. I have a friend in bootcamp right now for the marines.
Heres what you need to know though:
DONT go to a recruiter station until YOU are ready. The recruiters see you as a number.
What I mean by that is they look at you as another 500 dollar bonus if you sign up, not
only that but they literally have to meet a certain amount of people recruited a month
or they can lose there job as a recruiter. You have to watch out for them also because
they are very pushy, they called my phone numerous times and even showed up
un announced at the house.
In the end if you really want to join my personal suggestion is the marines, everyone is different,
but dont feel like the armed services are the only way to do right. You can be a cop and serve your
community without having to sign 4 years of your life away, and other things like fireman etc.
