Best age to have a laptop?

My little brother is 14 now, and he has been asking me to buy him a laptop. But I am not sure if I should buy him one. I mean I am seeing these kids doing random stuff on their PCs/Laptops etc, hence wasting the time that should be spent with books and studies.

So do you have any suggestions? Should I buy him a laptop?

12 years old and above will allow children to use laptop as long as they will research and study harder. Just tell your little brother that you have a job online.

i think it's best to buy him laptop when he's 16. at that age i guess he understands already what he'll be seeing over the internet. and at that age, he may be in highschool or going to college wherein they may be having more projects that needs the help of a computer and internet.

The best aged for me to buy a laptop is may if he's in high school already so he can use it for the school,buy for him as long as he needed,but if you think that i can help don't buy.for me the best age is maybe 13 yrs old up.

I think the age range between 17-21 years old would be ideal since the user would be responsible enough in using the gadget. Also in this age bracket the average person with this age would already have the know-how in troubleshooting if there would be any problem with the device

Well the best age to have a laptop is when you are at your college. At college you have to make your presentations and complete your project works. I didn't mean to say before college we don't need a laptop but pc is ok.

As long as the child knows how to use laptop for study purposes and not for online games which could effect his/her studies. Normally, in the country, mostly businessmen usually used laptop in order to monitor their sales/financial status in the market.
