BenQ Gaming Monitor Problem

I received my brand new BenQ RL2455HM Gaming Monitor in the mail today, and I'm having trouble connecting it to my MacBook Pro.

I tried connecting the two with a Mini Display Port to HDMI adapter cable, and haven't made any progress. When I plug in the HDMI cable to my Macbook, it detects an external monitor, but the monitor itself doesn't connect. Instead, it continues to display the words "No Cable Connected!".

Does anyone know why this might be? I'm becoming very frustrated, and some help would be greatly appreciated.

I can't help you but I use the same monitor for Xbox One.

Try another device, like a xbox or something.
If that doesn't work contact the support .
