Everything is a business at the end and in the background. The trick is to be amiable to your customers (aka community aka us!). BTW, trd360, you should a little about a Community (for those that don't know, his avatar!).

Yes you must be polite but you can do that while integrating yourself into the community too (and yes, it's the BEST SHOW EVAR).

Maybe it's just that I've been on a few forums where the Administrator was running a well oiled machine and also showing their fun side.
