The scary thing is that I read NASA are going to grab an asteroid and bring it into our orbit?
Oh yes, it'll be for the purposes of science, but there's a chance it could all go wrong.Pandas said:If they do that, they'll be doing it for scientific purposes. Obviously they wouldn't allow it to be anywhere close to the earth. It'd be way too dangerous.

I'm sure they will. I'm just really interested to see if it happens. It'll be one of those once in a life-time things I'm sure.Pandas said:They may have a backup plan like: Disintegrate the whole thing if it moves out of position. You never know man. They'd make sure everything is safe before they do such a thing.

I know what you mean.Pandas said:If only our ozone layer was able to withstand a lot more things hitting the earth, I'm sure the asteroid would just bounce off if we took care of the planet. But then again, we never know what may happen.. We never see asteroids hitting the earth so we wouldn't even know about it.
Wouldn't it be weird if we could see EVERYTHING in space from the earth?

Like a glass-bottom-boat?
Would be absolutely amazing man.
I've seen some of the images that are sent back to NASA and they just leave me in amazement every time without fail.
You know that NASA are sending people to Mars right?Pandas said:I'd love to experience being on another planet or dimension for a day. And yes, that is exactly what I mean. It's insanely amazing with the solar system and the amount of progress this planet has made within the birth of the big blue ball. (not religious)

I'm pretty sure the applications have now closed, but that would have been pretty good to get on that.
Although it's one way.
That's assuming all goes well.Pandas said:Whoever gets to go is lucky as fuck. They get to start life on Mars ;-;

I swear there is a girl from the UK going and she's leaving her boyfriend/partner behind.
She says Mars is more important.
wize said:Yes. If fast enough a lot of things can wipe the planet out.
Enough power can crack the earth in half.
Yes, many things can kill us straight away. Life is mysterious, a possible black hole could even be made next to our earth.Pandas said:it'd be a little insane on how we could be wiped out without knowing..
it'll be like the movie armageddon with bruce willis where the blow up the space rockJaii said:They may have a backup plan like: Disintegrate the whole thing if it moves out of position. You never know man. They'd make sure everything is safe before they do such a thing.
i'm not sure what you mean by thisJaii said:how would you think the Earth would stop a asteroid this large from hitting the planet?
