A little history before i get typical "why should i ask YOU questions about Runescape? What makes YOU the authority?" Well, ill tell you.

What makes me the authority:

I've been playing Runescape since late 2004.
I've had a successful version of almost ever kind of account, (pure, main, range tank, berzerker pure, etc.)
I've got several 99's on my accounts, and am a solid source on places/ways to train every skill.
I've had multiple chaotic weapons on multiple accounts, i.e. pure, zerker, main.
I've also had multiple fire capes on the same kinds of accounts.
I've merchanted, i've staled, i've pked, i've skilled, i've quested, and i've fought almost every boss the game has to offer.

--------------------------------------------

Hell, if you don't believe me, ask me a question. Or if you do believe me, ask me a question. That's the point of this thread, ask me your runescape questions!

Can you PLEASE teach me the ways of item merching? I don't want to sound like a desperate noob, but I have always wondered howw you can do it and make a profit.

Ok well the first distinction you need to make, is whether you want to "flip" or merchant.

The difference being, flipping, you buy large quantities of items and sell them in a short period of time for a marginal profit.

Merchanting is like investing, you buy a lot of one item, and hold onto it until it goes up.

Which do you want to do?

Just flipping, I guess :p

Alright flipping, gotcha.

Here's what you want to do:

Step 1: Go to Runescape Grand Exchange Page and pick an item. (good items to pick are herbs, potions, sometimes runes etc. Items around 1k, or more depending on your price range.) Good items will be pretty consistent in price, and reasonably priced.

Step 2: Go to the grand exchange and buy one of the item you want to flip for WAY more than the price, hit the "+%5" button like 20 times, literally.

Step 3: Look at the offer when it is completed, and it will tell you how much you bought the item for. Write this number down, you'll need it for later. We'll call this number A.

Step 4: Take the item you just bought (that you intend to flip) and sell it in the grand exchange for way below guide price. WAY below.

Step 5: Look at the completed offer and write down the price you sold the item for. This will be number B.

Step 6: Put a buy offer in the grand exchange for a lot of the item you are flipping (never put all of your money into 1 item, you risk losing a lot) When you are setting the price you want to buy these items for, take "number B" from "step 5" and add 5 to that. That is the price you're going to purchase them for.

Step 7: Wait for all those things to buy.

Step 8: Take all of your items, and sell them back in the grand exchange. When you put the offer in to sell them all, your price is going to be "number A" from "step 3" minus 5 gp.

Step 9: Wait for them all to sell.

The end.

Okay, I'm trying it with 500 Str Pots first haha.

Best of luck. The more money you have, the more profit you attain btw. Pm me and let me know how it goes my man.

Can you teach me to longterm (weeks or so?) merchant? Pretty interested in this tbh.

Also, any tips for creating a zerker?

Let's see if you are the authority! :D

The trick to longterm merchanting is in picking an item, obviously. The best item to pick is an item that is fluxuating stably. By this i mean, it has a clear pattern in its price over the past few months. I.e, an item goes up to 1m, it takes about two weeks and it drops down to say, 800k. And this has happened pretty consistently then you found your item. Wait for it to drop to around 800k, and then buy it up. Wait a little longer, and right before it gets to its peak (1m in this instance) sell it. You want to sell it before it gets to its peak to ensure you won't have any trouble selling it, and you'll get maximum profit.

Another kind of longterm merchanting requires massive ammounts of GP. This is more price manipulations, I.e. "clan merchanting" This is where lots of wealth is used to "buy up" all, or virtually all of one item, and hold onto it, making supply go down, and in turn, demand go up, also in turn, raising the price. This is difficult to do seeing as you need lots of capital, which is why the clans come in handy, but they are risky.

Tips on zerkers:
94 mage is a MUST, you are irrelevant without vengance, sure you might get kills, but it will be a lot harder, and vengance makes it much better.

If you're gonna get 80 dungeoneering, go for the maul, its slower than the rapier, but it's accurate, so it combo's better.

Quest your defence, obviously.

Do the reqs for turmoil, even if you don't have the money now, you might in the future, you never know.

Is bandos worth it? Is fighter's hat worth it? Should I stick with a neit and torso?

my question is: since you have multiple accounts, would you be willing to share one with me? pm me your answer

^^ One legit question you have there, sir. Seriously, I don't think someone would give/share their account with a stranger.

Anyways, I'm becoming a Range Tank soon, and is getting from 70 def to 75 def worth it? (For dfs or stuff like that?)
Thanks,
~Jas

How long does it take to to knock up a girl behind the G.E? Have you had success with this? I'd like this method if you have one. Thank you and I need this because I'm just a depressed boy that needs his action these days. :stress:

Depends on your stats. If you have high defence, yeah bandos is worth the strength bonus in most situations, which makes it worth the money.

If you're low defence, however, you might wanna stick to torags for a bit. Ive always liked Neitz + torso, because although the torso takes a while to get, if you aren't at risk to lose it, you're all good. And the neitz is relatively cheap, so even if you lose it, it wont take hours to get back.

In my opinion? Yes, i like the dfs a lot, and the 5 defence levels is hardly a difference in combat, and it really just makes people hit on you less so i say go for it.

Its like a rune pure getting 40 to 45 defence for a zerker helm, which gives some sweet bonuses and helps with defence.

For any money making method in f2p you'll need a lot of patience, cause theyre all slow.

Killing cows, making wet clay, tanning hides, killing cockroach soldiers. All about the same id say ;/
