Are you not allowed 4 letter twitter handles anymore?

I just got my girlfriend a 4 letter handle, Nothing rare just something related to her name for her YouTube channel.. The only problem was its all lowercase, As I try to uppercase it it says ''%{field} must be more than 4 characters'' so ofcourse, I come here for advice?

I feel very lucky as I currently have quite a rare 4 letter that has only ever belonged to one guy before me, He was a photographer and let me have the handle. It's been swapped once when I put it on a new handle and I considered doing it again soon just to start fresh for my YouTube.. that would have meant it being gone forever if I wouldn't have been able to reclaim it, very lucky if that's the case.

Thanks!

yeah they changed it 4 and under is non swappable

At first you said it was nothing rare then you said it was quite rare

Da fuq?

you cannot swap the username, or claim a 4 character twitter username since months ago.

Thanks my friend. I wasn't aware of this, very interesting.

I was talking about 2 different handles. The one I got for my girlfriend isn't rare.

Then I brought up how I was glad I didn't change my personal handle which is also a 4 letter (not her one) as it's quite rare and personal value etc, my nickname.

I don't understand why they'd do that. Is there a possibility of people with 3-4 letters being suspended?

What about large companys with 4 letters that own the name. (Asda, BMW, Audi, John) etc haha!

i see what your saying, but the chances of ''bmw'' and ''audi'' swapping there @'s are very low

I'm pretty sure they changed it so that people cant claim brand name acronyms... it's not hard for a brand to contact twitter and request their name but it can be hard for them to negotiate it from a random dude.

Idk, just my thinking behind it.

Someone told me all 4 letters would be suspended eventually, I was just questioning what about big companies?

5 letters up now man, even if you own the 4 letter @, you still cant fix it

-4 is unswappable.
I'd have @taxi and other nice @'s if you could swap them.
