When I began Rune Gear, I intended to develop it as a gaming website. Thing is, that's not how things work. You may leave to the store to grab oranges, but change your mind and pick up some apples and martinis. With some deep consideration recently, it's been decided that Rune Gear should live up to it's name. By maintaining it as a gaming website, I'm strapping Rune Gear down and not allowing it to grow into the community and resource it can be.

The first step in this massive innovation is getting rid of the old habits. Today, you saw Rune Gears Gaming section merged and placed in the General Discussion section. This is only the beginning of step one. In the next days to come, maybe weeks, sections will be merged, opened, in laymen terms, changes will be occurring. Rune Gear is being transformed into the website it should be. We're not just the fastest growing RuneScape Community, we're one of the most actively developed as well.

Many things will be reconsidered. Forum sections, locations, everything, all redeveloped. Rules will be rewritten and considered, services offered will be redone. Icons, images, designs, all designed once more. New groups opened, new opportunities created for members to participate in Rune Gear. Resources created to enhance the true feel of Rune Gear and your RuneScape gaming experience. A section for clans and the ability to recruit/create clan wars and events easily.

Over the last few weeks, discussion has been stirring regarding the new path Rune Gear is taking. Changes will be occurring. We will always stick to the roots which Rune Gear was built on, "A forum benefiting everyone allowing free discussion and resources". Updates are still considered, mockups being developed and more. We're stepping up Rune Gear into 2.0.

These features are still in the development stage, estimated costs surpass the $1,000 mark to execute them correctly. I'm serious about this and so is Management. I'd like the community to provide their support in our decision to move Rune Gear into 2.0, the next generation.

RE: Step One: Drop the old habits

Sounds like a plan. I can't wait for the updates :)

RE: Step One: Drop the old habits

Looking forward to this if there's anyway I can help you know where i am.

RE: Step One: Drop the old habits

Nice man!! I was beginning to think you died or something or summer got the best of you and you ran off to Mexico with your new wives. I'm stoked, this is good news. Remember if you need "looks" ideas that I'm around. Glad you're not a Bigamist, and I look forward greatly to this.

RE: Step One: Drop the old habits

Get rid of the Runesacpish theme you have then, The swords in the banner, and RUNEgear is a huge indication its a runescape site, i truly never knew this was a gaming website.

RE: Step One: Drop the old habits

It really doesn't have a runescapish look >.> it's rather professional. Could do what I'm doing with my gaming site, get gaming servers up and going for it.

You've just got to remember that I'm only 16 years old. I've got to manage my social life, school work and studies with my online life. I do web design locally and with online clientele. Rune Gear is always being monitored, I don't forget about it.

Look around, this site is nothing but RuneScape, bring in a new member and ask them what this website is about. 99.9999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999% of them would say its about RuneScape.

I know, I never thought you forgot about it lol. I know what it's like to be a busy dude. Reminds me, I'm getting fat and should probably start getting busy doing some work outs myself. But, I'm glad you're finding time for this. I wouldn't have been able to at 16. Way too much stuff on my plate. (women)

Oh sorry bud. I was more so referring to the theme itself rather then the icons. Erm.. .the icons are a part of the theme Pink. Ignore me, it's very late and my amazing hot tub has rendered me incoherent.

New forum name, GameGear.

rofl.

RE: Step One: Drop the old habits

Lol. Well you can always go with your current name and expand off of it in different but similar areas. In this case I'd say MMORPGS. It's a bit more of a swing to head in other directions without changing the name. But TE did say it's undergoing massive change sooo....

That name is so fucking kick ass. I hope that TE makes this site "multi-gamingtural" and not just runescape, i like abit of variety :)

RE: Step One: Drop the old habits

I don't really know how this will play out. I guess we'll just have to see.

It would be cool, but it is an actual hand-held made by Sega. :3

I said we're steering away from a gaming forum to a RuneScape forum.

Oh god, thank you. I thought that was what you meant at first but everyone else took it the wrong way.

Now I'm excited.

RE: Step One: Drop the old habits

Will you being expanding into other mmorpg games related to rs or would you classify that as too much of a 'gaming' forum. Either way no matter what your focus point is expansion will be a hassle and a good experience. At first I too thought you were inferring you wanted to be more of a gaming forum. Again, these blasted hot tubs really do a number on you.
