In spite of recent events and actions by JaGeX, Rune Gear has been struck by a once inevitable cause of concern. This cause of concern has just occurred, and we've been affected heavily. With the recent merge came an influx of traffic and activity, almost 8x the activity. This is obviously an advantage of being based upon an active game, meaning we were also exposed to the negatives. Recently, JaGeX decided to use a clearly offensive term to describe their actions in an effort to combat botting. Oddly enough, they succeeded. Considering it's one of the largest efforts they've put, they've utterly destroyed any source of legal cheating, and therefore a majority of the traffic we received. We do have an active RS General Discussion forum, but who are we kidding? Our major source of discussion came from RS botting, luring and cheating, and now that's been struck by a significant maneuver. We still have active discussion that is 2.5x more active when compared to pre-merge activity, although we need to continue into the new age of RS discussion. Botting is clearly a discussion of the past, unless bot developers have some secret trick up their sleeves, which in my opinion will be futile to JaGeX's effort. With this occurrence, RG must adapt to new situations and focus on what we can do. Nonetheless, we've been struck the least in my opinion. Our competitors are displaying a record decrease in activity to nearly 200 post.

I'm proposing a few options RG can take, which will continuously be revamped till I feel we've perfected a state of action that also fits within our objectives. These are:
  • Focus on RS hacking and other forms of cheating.
  • Expand into further games.

Feel free to post your suggestions, there will also be further announcements to keep you all up to date. Thank you for your patience.

RE: Focusing on RS Hacking

Don't go to other games, just focus more on the hacking side.

Agreed. Diversification is often unsuccessful and yields little activity gains.

RE: Focusing on RS Hacking

Great idea, this could potentially increase our site's popularity by a lot.
Once bot developers fail to update their bot's their forums would pretty much be
rendered useless.

Oh, and also adding different game talk would help as well.

RE: Focusing on RS Hacking

Maybe pay some more attention to the "Graphics" Section of Rune Gear. Will attract more high quality members, and users willing to learn graphics.

RE: Focusing on RS Hacking

Oh my god, don't believe this, Botting is not dead, reflection is dead. They will just use some other method like the one RSBots.net uses... Max down time for botting I give is 30 days.

RE: Focusing on RS Hacking

Not even reflection is dead, JaGeX are too stupid, Jacmob will go out of his way, just to get this bot working.

League of Legends (LoL) is becoming more popular now, how about a forum talking about it?

RE: Focusing on RS Hacking

A little bit of both? More on the hacking though.

RE: Focusing on RS Hacking

A lot of the members are here for RuneScape hacking, which makes me want to say stick with RuneScape hacking and similar things, however, deep down I know that the best thing for the forum as a community would be to expand into other games and hopefully attract much more activity within.

Yes, reflection is dead. What's more, injection (BCEL) bots are incredibly detectable. We'll see what happens, but it's not looking promising for botting.

Keep rg as it is. Tbh, id like to see more in the bug abuse section though

Would be dead as, I highly doubt anyone here is good at bug abuse.
