Apple Planning to Ban iPhone Videos at Gigs

Apple has been working with some Infra-Red light technology, and has patented the idea of the iPhone being capable of recieving data sent from an infra-red transmitter which then trigger certain functions on your device.

Multiple ideas suggest that in musems there might be transmitters which send information to your device about a certain painting or sculpture. But the details in the patent say that the iPhones cameras are to be automattically shut off if they are held aloft. Basically meaning when you stick your iPhone over your head at a concert or gig, a transmitter will send a message to your iPhone to turn off the recording.

This is a good idea for most artists performing at the gigs and to those who are worried of bootlegging etc. But I personally dont see the point, most new artists need the word of mouth to increase their fan base etc.

There are no plans to actually intergrate this feature in the iPhone as it was only a patent. No Apple spokesperson was available for comment.
