Anyone in the marines/army etc?

Just wondering if anyone here fights for your country. I am considering joining up. I just kinda would like to talk with someone about it, and figure out the pros, and cons.

I gather that some cons would be possible death, and a guaranteed 4 years of my life dedicated... But I do know there are pros as well. Such as money, paid college, free health care etc.
 
My brother in law, which is married to my sister, is actually in the army. He's currently fighting in Afghanistan. He said he likes it, but he's going to leave very soon because it's dangerous and my sister wants him to.

Another pro would be meeting other people in the army, some of them are extremely nice and I've met them myself. Seeing all the bad things over there would also be another con.

Almost my whole family was in the military and a lot of my friends were..... If/when I graduate high school(or get my GED) I’m going to join the military :p I HAVE SOOO MUCH RESECT TO PEOPLE IN THE MILITARY

How old are you? I thought you where out. Also whoever doesn't have respect for the people that fight for our country, and freedom is pathetic.
 
Sometimes I fight for our country online as a Marine solider.
