I have the Generation 1 Model B, and the Generation 2 <odel B. They are certainly worth the measly $40.

Tell me more about how you see yourself using it and I might be able to offer more advice.

I am thinking about putting XBMC on it for a small silent media center.
Also I was looking into Kali Linux for it, maybe setting it up with a touch screen.
