I just wasted an hour and some change of my life trying all different kinds of tags. They're all taken. Even the plurals. I give up. Guess I jumped in the game too late.

Does anyone know when another reset will take place? There are loads of nice tags out there that aren't being used.

Just keep trying and someday you'll probably get a tag just stick to some tags you like and check them every so often I got Fault and Maximum just by typing them in

I don't know for sure but I just got Maximum and Fault just by typing them in xbox.com I did what you were doing just typing in random words on xbox.com

Resets are possibly still happening every day. But on shit like Poppyseed1 and shit like that. Be patient like us all. Most of the gamertags that were in cycle, the owners decided to keep them where as most of the time they resold for profit.

Microsoft still reset tags, they are just all the shit ones.
But do what Junior said, just keep watching the tag you want
and hope it gets reset. I've been watching the same tag for 4years
now and it still hasn't been reset.

They are still reseting tags. Its just the luck of who gets them and if you are trying at the right time. I have a huge reset list but im havent check up on any of them in months.
