1 million gamertag reset whoaaaa

If I had gold for one year on my xbox one, it expired, i then renewed my gold with a one month and changed my tag.

would i be able to come a new gamertag (not free) ?

Yes, it says you need at least a 1 year tenure of being a member of Xbox live gold
 
i had a 6 year tenure and didnt use it for like a year and a half

just redeemed a one month, hopefully my tenure shows.
 
how can i check if a username would be reset?
could i for example go to account.xbox.com/friends search a tag and if it looks inactive (such as the tag "rahul") and will i kno if the tag resets?
 
I just saw this on Facebook and was about to post a thread about it, but I see there already is one!
This sounds cool, I don't play Xbox and I'm not in the SM market, but I'm still excited to see what new tags come to the market from this!
 
I hate to break your hearts, but they stated that the highest tenures will get first pick, and then so on. So like 13 years go first, and then 12s, 11s, etc. So if you have a low tenure, you may not get shit. And i heard they aren't releasing them all at once, they're releasing them slowly so it's "fair" to everybody. I don't know honestly. I have my eyes on some tags, but I doubt I'll get any since this account is a 1 year, and my banned account is a 5 :(

Does the tag need gold? My xbox is the home for my cousin's account, so I haven't been paying for that nonsense.
