1. Will accounts without a year of gold (cumulative) ever be able to claim the tags?
2. If I claim it w an acc w 1yr+ tenure, will it let me swap onto a freshie?
3. How long will this go on for? 24hrs, 48hrs, until they are all claimed?
4. Are the tags swappable to a freshie (kinda ike #2) but If they can be, will they gat banned right away?
5. Will banned tags be unbanned and reset?

might have moe questions later.

Random times. 
It will take 24 hours for them to all be released.

You might end up getting the tag banned, or most likely the account you are using will get suspended.

It's just there, you still need the money to change your name.
 
Question this may be dumb but the gamertag has to be a v1 for them to release it and to tell if it's a v1 is by looking at the gamer picture and seeing if it's the Xbox logo thing?
 
if they are resetting 1 million tags in 24 hours so for each hour they will be resetting 41,666 tags an hour correct me if i'm wrong tho I'm not sure but I think they will be going in order from the categories from proper names to pop culture then... you know so hope this helps

no it will still up for grabs until the 24 hours is over i think

1 is yes, I just called. She said that you have to wait until Thursday, though, after the 24 hour period. (If you wanna claim on fresh silvers rather than tenures)
 
Running turbos on the reset tags will cause you getting banned, I wouldn't suggest that since this is a huge event.
