im sure some tags will reset but i think it will be just like the switch from original box to xbox 360 live. Still going to preorder the 720, and going to the midnight release .
It can take 7-10 years for a tag to be put into a gt 'pool' to be reset, and this can take longer. I don't see why they would release v1 tags just because there is a new console
