Why Spend Tons of Money on Tags?

Sometimes i wonder why people spend over 300$ or 200$ on Gamertags, I mean theres no point, i have been in lobbys with OG tags and people just dont give a shit what their tags are. I think its point less, unless you have a 1 letter then people go crazy. Just my opinion.
 
true dat my opinion I'd spend 60-70 on a tag on a good day in a few years you wont even look at it..
 
Most of the people with 1 letters work for Microsoft. As to why people spend so much money, I'm not quite sure. I've spent a decent amount, but I don't care to much anymore, and am not wasting any more money on tags. Nor would I ever spend 300$ on one in the first place.
 
Because not every one is the same. Why do people do things the way they do? We don't have the same point of interest. Some care, some don't care. Some people just have money to spend and some don't. That's just the way it is.
 
I would only spend 40 max on a tag.
 
Why spend tons of money on cars, when you can just get a cheap one?

Your name or alias on Xbox is supposed to be something that you want to represent yourself. Normally, these types of names would be things that one enjoys, or simply thinks is an attractive name. Put simply, things that people like, such as tigers and cars and other things of that sort are all taken when it comes to gamertags.

So, you are forced to put numbers and Xs to replace the true gamertag that you desire. Most people are fine with putting fillers in their tags, but people like me just truly want to have something that they enjoy and like straight up, as if they were the first person to choose their tag. Hence the originality of it.

If this means I have to pay money for something I truly desire and want, so be it. I personally think you are assuming too many things, and you should understand that people spend money on what they like, and that there is nothing wrong with that.
 

I dont have a problem with it, But most people buy OG tags just to show off, and well when they play (Ex: Cod or Halo) Some people Dont care what your tag is, yes i spent money on tags but not like 400$ or 200$ its just not worth it you know? But i'd understand if the gamertag was super OG like Batman or Boob.
 
I personally buy OGs for the resale value and because people simply think they are cool.

It's like a 'fad' I guess.

Yeah I payed 50 for a tag that I love. And I will be keeping it, as I intended to ever since I started looking for an oG.

As long as Xbox is popular, it's not a fad. It's a permanent thing. People will want oG's more and more as Xbox becomes older.
 
I'd pay 50$ for Faggot or Faggotry and that's the only tag I would even pay that much.

Well, you'd be spending 50 bucks on a vulgar tag. You'd have it for a couple days before a big fat FNC.
 
Reason 1:They're most likely ugly
Reason 2:They don't ever go outside unless they are on there job
Reason 3:They don't have social life and they have no better way to spend there
Reason 4:They must look cool on xbox live

I barely even play Xbox let alone CoD.

So all the little 10 year olds that play CoD won't see my tag. ;D
