Why does everyone write under the quote?

Hey,

So I have been writing under the quote for a while, say when you quote something you will write under it so everyone see's the quote.

Lately I have been visiting some other forums and everyone does it above the quote, I think this is a bit more effective.

I was just wondering if there was a specific reason why everyone quotes things and then writes under it.

I just thought it made sense to write under something you're replying to.

Yea but it is so much more effective and easy to read, that way when you are looking at the post you can instantly see what someone has to say and if they want to see earlier things they can look below the posts.

I'd think it would make sense to read what the topic is about before reading the reply to the topic.

I write it underneath because people see what you are replying to and it is more efficient.

Say I say a big paragraph... then someone quotes me, it makes sense they write underneath. Writing underneath also means they are adding to what you said.
