Why do people buy banned gamertags?

I have seen a few for sale I can see they are cheaper usually but why would someone want a banned GT?
 
People buy banned tags because they are hoping that one day the tag will be unbanned or a unban method surfaces
 
because they hope hat one day the tag will be un banned or they have a method to get it un banned
