I was wanting a GT but i saw all the upgrades, groups and awards on this site. Should i go with a tag or get the above? (Sorry if people just find this as 'spam' i am just trying to see what's best.)

then why don't you upgrade and stuff and buy a tag that's a little cheaper? Best of both worlds.
