Well the other night, when Myg0t jacked someones profile, I added them on skype, right after they added me they added me to a call and kept yelling "The BotNet Has Landed" Im confused what is a botnet?

If you know what a rat is, it's basically a bunch of slaves bound together.
 
When somebody infects a lot of people, and can use the bots (infected people) to DDoS, or install more things into your computer.
Just the simple version.
