Minus accounts should be given away not sold.
Thats just my ophinion

To most people on the site, it's to achieve better stats to sell it when the site gets bigger so they can make money off of it.
That's the reason people took a lot of original accounts and such. To make money.

I myself, and a few other people I know, either upload for fun, or as an uploading tool, like Imgur.
 

I was about to say it seems just like tumblr.

Ehh, it's more on the Imgur side than anything. You can't really post anything anywhere, only upload pictures.
It does have the same follow system as twitter though (You follow someone, whenever they upload something, it shows up on your home-page with a (1) next to the feed button, or vice-versa).
