I need a laptop; here are some requirements:

- Somewhat fast (Doesn't need to be lightning fast, but it shouldn't be super slow)
- I don't want a netbook, as they are way too slow, and don't have a CD slot.
- $400 - $500 (Or anything good for it's value)
- Using it for school (Not gonna do gaming or anything like that)

Suggestions? I'm actually serious, don't troll. Thanks.

Uhm, I wasn't really asking that to you, but okay. I was just wondering if any one else has any recommendations.

Maybe I should have re-phrased it.
 
Well, I don't know laptops very well, so I was wondering if some experts here could recommend me a good laptop for school that isn't expensive.
