Well since you want an advantage you could try low level Zerking.
You could also try a defence pure but they're a waste of time in my honest opinion.
They aren't expensive forms of pures so your fine financially.
Botting them isn't necessary as they're fairly easy to train, but if you really want to,
find a good combat and soul wars bot and you're good to go.
Prayer isn't completely necessary if you're not able to obtain the proper level but it's something I'd recommend you get.

If you want a pure, a good stat build to get is:
60 attack
99 strength
1 defense
80+ range
52 prayer (controversial, although I like smite)
94+ magic for barrage

If you want to do a main for pking, all you need to do is max it out. Get barrage, vengeance, turmoil, barrows gloves etc.

To be honest having a 1 defence pure won't give him the "advantage" he wants.
It'll be an equally shared advantage depending on his opponents stats.
Although most of the time it's just about equal.
