Alright, I know alot of you will think that this title makes no sense but it's hard to phrase it. This is basically a way for me to ask "What is the coolest thing science has discovered to you?"

My personal favorite is everything about biology. I am very talented when it comes to science and I am thinking of becoming a biologist when I am old enough. I used to have a teacher that worked on making fuel from algae.

Anyway, that's a bit off topic so, post your favorite things!

That is one of my favorite discoveries too. It's really cool how you can put a piece of alkaline metal into water and it explodes. O_O
 
The most mind-boggling thing for me, and the thought that I mostly fall asleep to with a headache at night is that whenever you look at a Star, for example our Sun, your looking into the past because of the time it takes for the light to travel from its source to our eyes. Along with that just the vastness of space and Physics itself, its fascinating.

I'm not trying to be rude, but I think you meant proton.
Removing an electron would do nothing unless it gave the electron to another atom. Removing a proton, on the other hand, would make it a different element altogether.

@OP - The coolest thing I've seen in science was when I was in Biology as well. We went to a conference and a guy showed us a video of how scientists made a liver with an printer. They printed it sheet by sheet and then a machine cut the paper away with a laser. I'm not sure if it was safe to use, but it was made out of organic matter and it was pretty cool.
 

I don't think you could remove an electron any other way?
 
No, electrons can be removed through scientific methods, and even my example wasn't completely true. Some bonds do not create new substances.

Incorrect, ejaculation doesn't create sperm.
It simply displaces it.
 
I personally enjoy binary fission, it's quite amazing yet simplistic.
 
That the two fundamental forces of Gravity and Electromagnetism are closely related to each other. Did not see that coming.

That is also very neat.
 

Beta decay would be the only other way. Removing and adding electrons simply ionizes the atom — not very drastic of a change. However, changing the proton number, as said, will always give you a substance with an entirely different character.

The most mind-boggling thing for me is that our universe is asymmetric despite apparently originating as a singularity and maintaining constant physical laws.
 
New thing: they bonded H with He. Crazy stuff. They change an electron with a muon (in the He atom) and bam, it worked! for... a few femtoseconds!
 

That is pretty interesting.
I wonder what the reason will turn out to be. (Being optimistic here.)
 
Tesseracts and other multidimensional figures for me are the most mind boggling.
The idea that there are dimensions beyond our own with objects most cannot even hypothesize is truly fascinating.
 
I don't know what i have seen in my life, Not much really happens in my life sadly.
 
It could be something in the news, magazines, etc.
 
The Big Bang Theory. Although it has not been considered as FACT, there a lot of evidence which support to this idea. But then again, so many things that makes us doubt to it.
