Future has been called a "sealed book" by Shakespeare. You are quite right that our life would be very monotonous if we are aware of the happenings in future.

Yes indeed. Uncertainty and the surprise factor makes life more beautiful. It gives us something to look forward to. If life was all certain, it would be like we are watching a movie for the 2nd or 3rd time already. It would be indeed boring. It would be scary too. Specially if you know when you'll die.
