In my opinion there are several types of smokers in our modern day world:

1) The "Cool" Kids
- People who participate in the consumption Marijuana to be accepted by their peers. They usually do it to impress their siblings or friends. They act tough and strong but in all reality are too dependent to make their own choices.

2) Chemically Unbalanced
- People who smoke because they have mental/emotional problems with themselves or other people. The consumption of weed helps them cope with struggles in their life. They are usually not very social and relatively distant.

3) Recovery
- These individuals smoke because it helps them with a physical condition. They smoke not for happiness, but for relief. They want to get rid of any disease or ailment that is a negative influence in their life (e.g. Cancer, Glaucoma, Insomnia).

4) Spiritual
- Spiritual smokers indulge in the properties of Cannabis to cleanse the body and mind, heal the soul, exalt the consciousness, facilitate peacefulness, and bring pleasure to one's self. The two most common beliefs or way of lives found in this type are Rastafarians and Buddhists. They more often than not have very peaceful and "grounded" character.

So my fellow ForumKorner members. Which one are you.

I do It cuz it feels good and while I'm high I don't have to worry about how shitty my life is for a while not sure what that classifies as

This is so fucking true, I would say I am number 2 and 4 :p

That would classify yourself as "Mentally Unstable" because you are getting "high" mainly to suppress the problems in your everyday world.

I would put myself under the "Chemically Unbalanced" section. It describes me perfectly.

Mine personally was "Chemically Unbalanced" a long time ago and then it blossomed into "Spiritual".

I hope to have the same progression. I have anxiety, small bursts of depression, and panic attacks. Besides my own "herbal therapy," I am also doing acupuncture.

I used to do a little acupuncture. Might I recommend learning about Buddhism. Sometimes people from large parts of the world see it as "outlandish", but it changed my life. The reason we have these symptoms are because of what our society tells us, when in reality life isn't supposed to be a test. I hope you find what you're looking for.

I completely understand and respect Buddhism, and if I were to choose a religion, that would be the one. That being said, I'm going to stick with no belief for the time being.

The great thing about Buddhism is that it's not a religion. Buddha specifically said that he was not a God nor leader. He simply wanted to help people find their right path.

Yes, but it is still a belief system, which I do not have at the moment. I've studied Buddhism in the past and I am really quite attracted to it. I might have to give it a shot.

Lol you smoke now? Wow it's been so long since we spoke.

Last time I spoke with you, you said you were going to smoke with someone (forgot who it was) and I said you were too young.

Ultimately it's up to you and I hope you figure whatever it is you want out. I don't have a belief system either, just a way of life.

It was my Brother. And yes I do smoke now. Thank you for asking.

So like are we not friends anymore?

I used to be a cool kid, but also one who smoked for relief. So a recovering cool kid? idk

Not sure if that response was meant for me. I noticed you were conversing with another member.

I have to agree with all of these. I would say I'm the fourth type of smoker.
