TV Question/Problem

Don't really know where to post this, so if it's in the wrong section, please move it.

Anyways, here's my problem:

For the past few weeks, my TV has been acting up. Every so often it gets these green and red sparkles and then it looks as though part of the picture gets sort of stuck while the rest continues to move. At first I thought it was the HDMI cable, but it does it even when I'm not using it. I know this isn't a great description of the problem, but it's really hard to explain. I'll try to get a picture of it, but it only happens on occasion and stays for a while.

Any help on what to do would be great, thanks.
 
Not really sure what could be wrong because I personally don't know much about TV's, but what type of Tv do you have? I'll try to find a fix to it or something.

Anyways, does this happen when it's on cable, plugged into a computer, or when you're playing Xbox or PS3?

It is a three year old Samsung Plasma. I don't understand what's up with it /:

Well, I mainly only use it to play Xbox, but while it was happening, I turned off the Xbox and unplugged the HDMI, and the problem persisted.

So the problem isn't from the HDMI, it is from the TV.

Does it still show when you change channels?

It has something to do with the TV not the HDMI 100%.
What model is it?

I don't think it flickers, but I'm more focusing on the colors. Sometimes lines show up on it, too.

Try and get a picture of it bro, I can't seem to picture what you're saying lol.
Does it happen randomly? Or do you do something and it triggers it?
Does the TV start to get hot after a while of use?
Is there any specific colors it goes over, for example, do you see the sparkles on just red, or just blue?
 
Been looking for a good 20 minutes and I can't seem to really find anything except that one fix I posted already :/ sorry man I hope you figure it out.
 

It just happens randomly. When it does the sparkle it goes through green, red, and blue. And yes, it gets a little warm, but not horrible.
I'll try to get a picture of it. I'm waiting for it to happen again.

Since I couldn't get a picture or video, I searched around on YT and found this:
