Okay, at the moment I am levelling a mage pure, and I am too cheap to buy a membership. I thought about sharing the way I was levelling.
1 - 9
Walk to Barbarian Village.
When you are there, go a little bit north till you see some cockroaches.
There you will see a entrance, not the rift, a little bit south.
Walk down there, walk into the open jail.
When you did that, click on the poster.
Now walk through the cave till you see a stair.
Climb that stair.
Now walk into the the first room to the west.
Pull the lever in that room. When thats done, walk down the stairs, then click on the first door you see.
Walk trough the place till you see a chest.
Click the chest, now you will obtain two lamps, use both on the skill Magic.
You are now level 9.
9 - 11
Walk to the Grand Exchange.
Buy 460 Earth Runes, one Staff of Water and 230 body runes.
Walk to the varrock castle.
In the middle, there is a monk locked in a cage, if the monk is busy walk through the castle till the yews.
and cast on the bear instead, but the monk is a lot better.
Begin with casting confuse on him/the bear.
As soon as you get 11 use Weaken till 19.
19 - 25/43
Here there is two different ways, but firstly buy either: 129 body runes, 258 water runes & one staff of earth (This way will go quick but will cost most), or: 1599 Body runes, 3198 Water runes & one Staff of Earth.
Now whatever you picked, Curse the monk/bear till you got no runes left.
Way 1 (25 - 43)
Begin with buying one Staff of Air, 886 law runes and 100 fire runes.
You guessed right, we are going to do Teleport to Varrock.
Do this until 31. Yes, you got some laws left.
Thats good.
Buy 309 air runes and start teleporting to Lumbridge, not home teleport!
I'd keep a teleport to varrock if I were you.
Buy 477 Fire Runes once you hit 37.
Yep, teleporting again. Teleport to falador this time.
When you are level 43, we are done with teleporting.
Way 2 (19 - 43)
Doesn't it tell itself? Curse the monk bro
43 - 55
This part might be a little bit annoying.
Start off by training smithing to 30.
I will not guide you with this.
But I can provide you with a guide.

But, thats not the tricky part.
The tricky part is smelting 2.3k steel bars.
Buy 2195 iron ores, 4390 coal, 2195 Nature Runes and a staff of fire.
Smelt steel bars till 55 or you can just teleport if you think thats easier.
55 - 99
Sorry guys... this will take a while.
Start off by going to http://alchprices.com/ and check some nice items to alch.
Buy 200274 of that item & as many nature runes.
Now stop reading this guide and start alching.
