Lol, I get pages of those everyday. I've checked my email is in every mailing list for rs.
 
Yea every day I get at least 3 of those messages
Like They might fool some random but Seriously After they send 50 copies I don't think it will work if you send another =P

They try to hard and thats why they fail
 
Funny thing is, i haven't given out my email to ANYONE besides maybe 3 people on a rs forum. Which is on this site.
 
I don't know how they get my email
Because I made a new account to have a dung pure
And No one knows that email and I got a message saying infraction
Jagex is trying to play a game with us I think 0.o
Or some how kids are getting my email When I use a mac =/

Thats from 4 months of not emptying my email box, and 90% of those are phishing emails for people trying to get my WoW account...

The funny thing is that the email used for my WoW account is my Yahoo email, not my Hotmail one... and i've never recieved a phishing email for my yahoo, yet i've had 3k+ on my hotmail.
 
Jagex sells the email information they obtain from you, you guys didn't know that?


That's nothing, try 100k emails. Spam filter sucks. I never delete shit from this email, it gets 1k emails a day of shit.

 
To be honest I think everyone in the world gets them, just they're guessing we play Runescape.

spam bots get them, they will go through every page on rs forums looking through peoples signatures and what not.

thats why the elite said to do example[at]hotmail.com or what ever it is.

on other blackhat sites, people sell lists of like 500k runescape emails
 
You Guys remember the day rs was down for like a whole day not so long ago.. And they never said why.. i bet there server was hacked and all emails where Copied

Actually it was due to too many bots. A pmod friend of mine was on and he had to switch to multiple worlds due to lag. He reported many many people with his right click report abuse function. He has a pic of over 70 wcing bots botting ONE YEW TREE -at the same time-
 
The other day i got mailbombed with about 150-200 of those, I was trying to reply and i couldn't..

Not to mention highly illegal for them to do; I think it's just web crawlers and google searches that find all these emails. If more forums had the protection system that Powerbot had on their posted emails I think we'd be a lot better off. Only registered members can view emails, and only view emails after clicking on a Spoiler-type bb-code.
