Windows 8's Metro UI will soon take over most of Microsoft's products, including cloud platforms, services and developer tools.

In fact, some design elements from the Metro UI already made their way into a series of these products, although not the entire UI can be seen on them.

However, the main focus is on bringing them in line with the design philosophy of Windows 8, the company confirmed during a press conference following the first day keynote at TechEd EMEA 2012.

“We love the Metro UI,” said Brad Anderson, corporate vice president, Management & Security Division during the event.

“We're aiming at providing the same experience across products, including Windows Phone, Windows and Xbox.”

Microsoft was already known to focus on the Metro UI, and now we know for sure that its cloud platforms, as well as developer tools such as Visual Studio, will be aligned under it.

Through bringing the same interface to more products, the Redmond-based software giant is aiming at delivering a fluid, consistent experience to all of its customers.

By redesigning the developers tools to come in line with the visual language of Windows 8, Microsoft is aiming at providing a new, better experience to application builders as well.

“People will either love it or hate it,” Brad Anderson also stated. In the end, however, they will have to accept the change.

Apparently, network administrators and IT managers already showed positive response to the changes that have been included in Windows Server 2012.

Some of the UI elements from Metro were spotted in the presentation of new capabilities in Windows Azure and Windows Server 2012, a clear indicator that the new design philosophy is indeed being applied to more products than just Windows 8.

Visual Studio 2012, however, will include only some elements from the interface, in an attempt to allow the tools to breathe new life and improve the overall experience developers receive from it.

However, things will go no further than what was already shown in Visual Studio 2012 RC, Jason Zander, corporate vice president, Visual Studio confirmed to Softpedia during a briefing.

I'm guessing by that you don't use Windows :p

Don't know about everyone else but the Metro look is great only for touch screen computers and tablets.

Its ok, it looks cool but it's really nothing "amazing". They are just designing more stuff to spoon feed the common computer user. By the end of this century there will be a select few that actually know anything about computers, the rest will let their windows system do everything for them.

thank you for sourcing your article mclovin! This seems cool!

True, but there are people out there that has a fair idea of what and how to fix computer problems.

I think that in the future Microsoft will end up being the ones that will be fixing all Windows PC's like and I think that they are doing for Macs.

Software and hardware are completly different, all those problems you guys have are from the windows OS itself, its a train wreck. They are setting you up with shitty software that you have to pay for and will continue to pay for as this age continues. It's all BS in my opinion. It's amazing how insecure and obsolete a OS can be but yet everyone loves it because its what they grew up on. Hardware can be fixed by anyone, its so simple. I started building pcs when I was 8, but software. No thats the big boy, when you learn how to build an OS up from a terminal. then you know something, and that is what Unix makes you do. Linux can be installed with a fancy GUI and preinstalled packages(like windows) but Unix systems are much harder, they require basic cli, coding, and networking knowledge to even boot it up to install it. Let alone use it, by the time your done learning the basics of Unix systems you know how computers tick, how they function. This knowledge will insert you into a group of people with no limits, being able to access any part of a computer and customize it grants access to so many other opportunities, not just in hacking. But in business, pentesting, networking, system administration, malware removel, malware coding, you name it man. this is why when I see windows I think of a baby getting spoon feed peas, its ridiculous. Oh and BTW, all unix systems are free. You can even modify it and sell it at your will. Thus making it open source.
