The "Fighter Jet" Award

9/11 is a very important day to my family and I. On the official day of 9/11 I was really little to really understand what was going on too much, but I knew it was a disaster of some sort from listening to the news and such. I heard about thousands of people dying, just the thought of that made me sleepless.

My grandfather was a war veteran(actually was a gunner in a fighter jet) and passed away on 9/11/2011(coincidence, eh?). The military branch runs through our family and we always take 9/11 off of work to go to his grave, to pay our respects and every other sacrifice that is given to protect us every single day.

I just don't understand why it's so hard for people to read.... 9/11 happened in 2001 when a lot of people FK weren't even born.. 
 
I'll give it a go. I was in Kindergarten I think when this happened. A bunch of people were freaking out and some schools were closed/took their day off. I didn't even know what was going on until I turned on the news. Call me crazy, but I still think it was an inside job. That's my story about it.

I said it defeats the purpose of the award. Being able to buy-in or trade awards for it, makes the award practically worthless. It basically has no meaning because you are allowing it to be bought. 
 
I was in school when 9/11 occurred. I remember going to the bathroom a little bit  before it happened and when I was walking back to class It was just pure silence. It felt really odd and I was genuinely scared since I was a young kid. I was still roaming the hall at that point in time and a counselor somehow knew who I was and happened to run into me on my way back to class. She said my mother called and was leaving work to come pick me up. At this point I was still unaware of what had happened so I was on the verge of crying from being so scared since the events that lead up to that particular moment in time we're very odd and something just felt off. It's hard to explain but it's like when you take a nap and you wake up wondering where you are and what time/day it is. So fast forward a little bit after my mother picked me up from school and I learned what sequence of events happened on that fateful day..  I was on my way home with my mom and when we finally got to our house my dad and siblings (they were older so my dad picked them up from the JR High) were going back and forth from the Suburban  to the house loading clothes and food/water/medicine/guns/ammo etc. At this point I was still in shock by what had happened and really didn't comprehend the situation fully. I distinctly remember my parents talking about it and how bad the towers were and they thought we were being invaded. We ended up driving to our cabin that is in the country that we own and staying there for about a day and met with a few of our family members who live down there aswell and group together since we still didn't know if we were being invaded and how serious the situation was and how far it could escalate and if we were in danger of a terrorist attack



That's my recollection of my day(s) when 9/11 happened. Keep in mind I was still very young (like 6) so I'm sure I am missing stuff about that day in my perspective. I'm also sure I made mistakes when writing this since I wrote everything how I remember they happened and didn't want to lose my train of thought and stop to check for spelling/grammar errors.

it just gives everyone a way to have the award. I'm not forcing anyone to buy it

I get that, but you aren't understanding my point. This should be an exclusive award given the rules/requirements to get it. All I am saying is, you should consider taking out buy-ins and award trades. It degrades the award heavily.

A lot of people on here weren't born yet or were too young to remember. Some people also might not want to share their story for whatever the underlying reason may be.

At the end of the day, Hassam paid for his award and dictates who does/doesn't get it despite whatever the requirements are.
 

Yes, I know. I'm voicing my opinion and feel sorry for anybody who legitly got this award. Because once somebody trades, and does a buy-in, it's worthless. 

Then again, that's my opinion. Feel free to think different.
 
Although I already have the award, I wanted to share my experience because I was born and raised in New York. I was only 3 years old when this tragic accident occurred, but my mothers best friend worked in the tower and lost her life on that day. I remember my mother being really upset that day and I didn't know why, she only told me the reason years later when I was a bit older to properly understand it.
 
I was in grade school at the time. I remember teachers talking about the incident during class. At this point a bunch of us were curious and asked but they didnt tell. On the ride home, i finally realised what had happend because we had the radio on. When i got home, my dad was there because this work place in the city having to be closed because of the tragedy. For the rest of the day, my parents and i watched coverage of the event on TV. Such a tragic moment for all of the world

i was pretty young and forgot most of it. ill ask my parents about that day a bit more tonight and see what i can find out.
 
@Hassam I don't recall, but you should give me the award for being able to do a barrel roll.

Lets see, where was I during 9/11. Well, I was 3 years old, but I don't think I was in school at the time.
From what I can recall, my mom was in the living room with me just watching tv. And then they put on the breaking news and all that saying that planes crashed into the towers.
So basically, I was just a little child hanging in my house., knowing nothing of what happened during that day, until I was older.
 
I was in school and my teacher turned on the news and we watched it all go down. It was a sad day.

I was like 3 when 9/11 happened, so I have no memory of it. But yeah, I think 9/11 jokes are funny, so heres this gif.

I was in 2nd grade, just going to lunch. Then all of the TVs had an alert on them, I felt confused/shocked. My mother picked me up. Than went home. Thats all I remember @"Hassam"
