I will assume you are of good moral conscience. I will also assume you crave to know that which is hidden or hard to find. For, in this instance, you are a stable, intelligent person who wishes nothing more than to see the world run smoothly. You find knowledge to be freedom and, to you, ignorance is depravity.

To you, I say "salutations!" and welcome your visit to our fine establishment. Our home is, of course, the Internet... Where quite literally everything can be obtained. Would you like a cold beverage while you sit and listen? Ah! Right away!

Anyways, we have a proposition for you to consider. See, while society has been picketing, rioting in the streets, and boycotting the sometimes mundane, we have begun to wonder what our future will have in store for us. As social services are running out, as national debt climbs ever higher, as a failing global economy is falling the fuck apart, we need to take control of ourselves.

Surely our current situation does not come as too large of a surprise! I mean, we have had several models to mimic and make better. But, to my surprise, we never actually tweaked those models. We simply adopted them, let them run their course, and braced for impact as they crashed and burned. Take Rome for example. Mighty was Rome in all its majestic art, leisure, philosophy, and corrupt politics. Everything was going well for Roman citizens for quite a while. However, an extended military, a conversion to religious practice within government, and a depleting social service cache changed all of that. Now look at us in our three-piece suits. Wars of the most contrived are now being fought on every continent, save one. Our governmental order is now being based upon the morale of what would appear to be an interpretation of a "one true" divine doctrine. Our retirement plans, such as the United States' Social Security program is running out of funds! To be honest, left alone, our way of life will be utterly destroyed (as have so many others from history).

Now, here is the deal. We need you. In fact, YOU need you. We need to reclaim logical reasoning, cast away the unintelligible dogma that finds itself eating away at what is left of society, and make the world a better place for everyone.

Are you in?

“The changing character of the native population, brought about through unremarked pressures on porous borders; the creation of an increasingly unwieldy and rigid bureaucracy, whose own survival becomes its overriding goal; the despising of the military and the avoidance of its service by established families, while its offices present unprecedented opportunity for marginal men to whom its ranks had once been closed; the lip service paid to values long dead; the pretense that we still are what we once were; the increasing concentrations of the populace into richer and poorer by way of a corrupt tax system, and the desperation that inevitably follows; the aggrandizement of executive power at the expense of the legislature; ineffectual legislation promulgated with great show; the moral vocation of the man at the top to maintain order at all costs, while growing blind to the cruel dilemmas of ordinary life – these are all themes with which our world is familiar.”

-Thomas Cahill comparing Ancient Rome to modern society
