This post is only going to be relevant to new smokers, looking for a different way to smoke Marijuana. Smoking Vet's, feel free to add to my post, OP will be updated.
So now we are onto the topic, the basic concept behind any homemade bong. The first thing you need is to find a "Chamber". Your Chamber must have a point to inhale at the top, completely airtight otherwise. I would suggest a water bottle, or a bottle of pepsi/coke. Because it is plastic, we can make a hole in it for the stem, which is the second piece of your bong. The stem will be a long tube, that allows for airflow. It should be 3"+ long. Good objects to use are metal pens, small pipes, ect. You now have to put your Chamber and Stem together. Use a lighter 2" - 2.5" from the bottom of the bottle that is your chamber, to make a hole roughly the size of your stem. Once your hole is the appropriate size, insert the stem into the Chamber at the angle for your design. Often I use tape to hold the bowl at a specific angle. Make sure it is air tight, to seal it you can use tape, glue, or get creative. Just make sure it seals!
You now have 66% of your bong. What's left? The bowl. Finding an item to use as a bowl may be tricky, I recommend Socket's, Funnels (Great cone bowls), Tinfoil, ect. If your bowl is flammable, cover it in tinfoil! Attach your bowl to the end of your stem, and you are 99% done. Tape or glue are ideal. All you need to do, is add the shotgun. One inch above the hole for your stem, make a hole where your thumb naturally rests using the flame from a lighter. You are now finished, and ready to smoke some weed! Cover the shotgun with your thumb, inhale & light the bowl, take your thumb off the shotgun and clear the chamber when you feel ready, and exhale.
This is so universal, you can turn nearly anything into a bong! MacGyver that shit!
