Technical Architect

I've never heard of the career, but I did when I watched this video:

Was very informational. Sounds pretty interesting/fun as well. What do you guys think of a Technical Architecture?

So... I guess he makes the designs the iPhones, iPods, iPads, etc?

I think he disigns entire computer systems for companies. I think about 6 minutes of the video will cover what he does.

Seems like he makes bank doing what he is doing, where there is a cap on being a computer mechanic.

Engineering* There is still a cap on what an engineer can make, but it seems as if being a Technical Architect can name his own salary, because his work is, well, cost effective. If you watched the video, you learned that this is so so so very efficient to companies that require this.

I am happy with triple digits and starting at 70k.
