Taking back a IG

I'm somewhat confused on this, I've seen people post that their IG was taken back? How does this work? Can I prevent it by swapping it?

The person might have kept an email reset from Instagram or they attached a facebook account to it.
That's the only methods I know how they're able to be taken back.
If it's a stat IG then the person can take it back.. If you're talking about OG name then yeah, you can swap the name to another account and it wont be taken back.

Wow that's pretty stupid people can just take it back, but thanks man.

Takes no effort to recover an insta. Password recovery links never reset. Swapping works, but turboes void its usefullness short term. Don't buy instagrams from new members.

I think I have a way of forcing IG PW reset links to expire, not too sure if it works. But linking a Facebook is the most common way from what I have experienced.

You should do some tests, because that would help a lot.

Oh I will, I just don't really have the time to right now.

@OP:
Have Instagram open on your phone.
Sign into an unused account (fresh).
Go to where you can change your username.
Type the one that you wish to swap.
Go to your computer and sign into the IG you wish to swap.
At the same time, spam "Done" on Instagram to try claiming the IG that you're swapping, whilst changing it on your desktop.

I've done this more than once and pretty recently and I have yet to be turbo'd, and I don't think Instagram has cool down/timeouts on mobile.
