I suggest having group competitions of some sort. A member of Staff can make a thread having each competing group bring forth a roster of a limited number. I know members are in multiple groups, but you would only be allowed to be on one group's roster. We can do anything that the community desires. There would be a point system given to the winning groups after each event. First group to reach a certain point total receives a site award that is given to only the members on the roster. There is no money spent in this arrangement. It's just a little competitive fun for the community to engage in.
This would be quite unnecessary as most groups are not even active. Also, most users are in more than a single group, so this won't work, really. Groups just come and go. None are permanent.

Did you read my op? It looks like you just skipped straight to the post. Groups can join the competition if they'd like, and you could only choose one group to be a part of. If a group got full, you'd have to choose another group you were in. This would make groups more active...
Alternatively, respective leaders could hand pick their roster, choosing them for their qualities and attributes while also saving users from squabbling over their roster positions.
I support the idea, although I don't think it'd have much interest if there wasn't prize money involved.

It's not like the groups scene is permanently inactive. People just don't have anything to do with their groups... This is something to do with their groups. There are actually quite a bit of active groups though.
