I was posting a thread and I've never ever clicked that until today, caused out of boredom. I'm wondering, what is the point of it? Considering a user is limited to 1 account per IP Address unless certain circumstances are discussed with a dorm member or a brother whom also owns an account for the same forum.

BUT, I still don't think it is needed, it really does no use to the forum but just be there for no reason in my honest opinion.

So, what does the lovely community of RuneGear think about this?

Exactly what I've always thought until this day.
 
It's a quick log out, say if you are at a friends and he also has an account and he wants to reply but realizes hes' on your account... he can just click it.

Not if they inform us in advance.Or after... Cause I for example know some people on this site IRL and my IP has been crossed with there's many times as I have needed to come online. I understand people have IRL friends here therefore... It's not an Autoban, it's only if the Registration IP is the same + if one user is ban evading.


And even then, not always when the Registration IP is the same.
 
Has anyone ever used it though? Because if you can come up with people that ACTUALLY use it, then we might as well keep it.

Within reasoning of course. When a member is found using a different IP, usually, well hopefully an Admin/Staff member will PM you to verify you were the one on the account to make sure your account hasn't been compromised.

Mike has notified me a few times before because I was not paying attention and connected on here through different VPN's and Proxies, which I usually try to avoid because I am on them a lot when browsing the net.

I'm sure you could justify sharing the computer if necessary, i.e. pming a high up member of the staff team in advance ;3

Seeing how you backed up what you had to say and gave a nice description on why it's there and what other purposes it could be used for, I now see where you are coming from. I did not have those things in mind when thinking of it, maybe leave this open for a little more discussion.
