someone help out a stressed jmczeey please..

well,

recently ive had to start using my laptop to get onto xbl by bridging the connection and plugging it into my xbox.

i decided to change to optic firbre broadband from bt for some serious speedy internet.

however, the fuckers gave me some piece of shit modem and now i no longer have the dynamic ip function so when im watching a mega video or video bb i have to wait to watch the rest of my movie.

and when im trying to connect to xboxlive it says i gotta test the connection and when i do that it just says test failed blah blah blah. and a messedge comes up on my laptop saying ~ "windows has detected an ip adress conflict"

~soooo, can anyone tell me the solution to my ip adress conflict problem, and also how i can change my ip at will without having a dynamic ip modem.

Have you tried resetting your router?

ofc i have, i really dont know whats up, do you think i just need to completely set it up from scratch again given that its a new router?

You may need to open done ports or something, when you test the connection what does it suggest you do?

If its not your ports or mtu then it might be your laptop
