Solomon's General Store

Usually I am excited about Runescape updates but I have to admit that I am not crazy about Solomon's General Store. This new feature allows players to customize their characters with new outfits, emotes, teleports, etc. It sounds cool but I found it really disappointing. First of all the selection blows. Seriously there is hardly anything to choose from and even less for female players. Second you have to buy the coins which I think is a little greedy seeing as how millions of us pay for membership, myself included. And last but not least I find it annoying that they give you a few coins to try it out but not quite enough to get hardly anything. Really I think the whole update is weak which I find a total disappointment as I am usually really happy with Jagex. My suggestions would be to improve the selection and to give players to opportunity to win or earn the coins in addition to the purchase option.

Well it was coming to be honest I mean they have to fund their business somehow, right?

I see it as a neat feature, but it's stupid how they are basically being hypocrites about real world trading. And there will be more things added eventually.

I think its a complete waste of time to code that thing and yea Its stupid in general
They just are money hungry people thats all

Well to me I don't really see how it will do any bad to the game, all it is is different emotes / outfits.
They have to make money somehow?

Indeed, but it also contradicts their rule for real world trading correct?

Jagex are still testing the waters with micro-transactions. They are getting much less hate over this update compared to the hate they got with Squeal of Fortune.

The fact that many players are becoming more accepting of micro-transactions is what concerns me. The more players that get sucked in means the more Jagex will exploit micro-transactions.

Sure it's cosmetic items now, but if this proves successful it wont be long before the runescape hiscores is just a measure of players real life wealth rather than players in game achievements.

Its alright beats the new combat system though....

They know and everyone knows that the nuke is coming soon. So, I guess they just wanna rake in whatever dough they can before several thousand players who bot quit their game. That is, until another bot comes out

I'm not for it but I don't mine SGS as it gives no bonus just cosmetic items
