I thought some might be interested in my website GamingAssault.net. I thought of this awhile ago and have not used it since. I think it would go good for the gaming portion of this site and like Campbell was talking about we could create a network and that domain could be a part of it. I really liked that name. So anyways, thought I would let you guys know. I have a friend who is willing to help me support it and anyone who wants to help out building the site is more than welcome. But first I have to figure out hosting.

I'm not really a fan of just forums, since they rarely have anything unique.

If you make the site for game reviews, you could have certain threads on the forum mirrored and styled onto the actual site.
The site would parse the threads of the review section (granted the first post in the thread adheres to a certain format) and display them in a more structured and aesthetically pleasing way.
You could also limit certain usergroups' threads from being mirrored onto the main website, so a lot of low quality reviews don't bombard the main site.

With the mirroring process done, you could then focus on the actual site features:

- An advanced search feature
- "Games you may like" area on each page review, to display games of the same genre
- Comments on the review, which would just be the replies to the actual review thread

It's a lot to do, but there's no easy way to make something stand out from the rest of the crowd.

That's a great forum name for a gaming community. I would pm Crayo or Lmcampbell about this. I would put this into the network. Good job of getting that domain as well. It's a pretty badass name.

Reviews, news etc.

Administration or moderation won't be possible if this goes a head at least in the first month.
I'll be coding the structure and the everything needed first.
Then I'll start going over PHP for comments and quick additions for reviews.

Working on the actual network first though.

Well I would like to start up the site now and get content up so there is something then we can completely revamp it till we get the coding sorted. I just need hosting if anyone can help. They can help moderate the site with me. I have friend IRL who will be helping me do reviews as well. So, yeah.

What are you going to use to place your reviews how are you going to moderate?
I'm sure we will be able to host you on MF server, not sure yet though.

Yeah it's cool. I can just put up some blog software for now and we can easily use that for reviews, MAYBE attach a forum for whatever reason. But I can do all that myself. I've admin'd many websites and built some from scratch. So I know quite enough about html and stuff so if I would get server access to the website I could easily install everything.
