Shouldn't rejection phase you?

I'm just curious here, I've been rejected 3 times (played twice), and the only girl I really actually liked was the worst. The other 2 I cared for 30 minutes then moved on. So I'm wondering, isn't it stupid that I don't really care after rejection, move on and actually gain confidence after it. I need help here lol
