bad thing with verified twitters even changing pass or twitter username will make it lose that little blue tick..
So i think 300$ is way to high as maybe a person that dont know this go and change it then boom they lost out

Please research before you make false statements.

Changing email/pass does not remove the Verified badge, changing the username does.
 
strange as i had one ages ago changed the email then within a day was no tick maybe its all changed this was like last year

Just can't update the Twitter handle or put Tweets to private or you will lose the badge.
