Snapchat allows you to delete your username and it becomes available again. So if I owned the snapchat name 'snapme12' and I deleted it, anyone can remake the name 'snapme12'. Kind of like when you swap names on Instagram.

However, it should be said that deleting your account will reset the score/friends/chat history/etc.
