Hmm, half a penny has 0.044 ounces of copper in it. So each penny weighs 0.088 ounces. Simple math takes us to a conclusion that if I were to melt ~11.3 pennies, I could make enough copper to make this coin.

Too bad new pennies are made of zinc, and melting pennies is highly illegal.
