Martial arts have come so extreme since the old days of conventional forms and kung fu. I can still remember when everybody referred to every martial art as karate, kung fu or judo. Well, things have changed; or evolved in fact. Numerous styles of self-defense are put to the trial in modern times, and lots of have been proven inadequate. In fact all of them have in one way or another. What we have to understand is that all styles are not created the same, all self defense moves are not high gain, and mastering a martial art will not make you invincible to attack. In realism anyone can lose in a physical argument. Your brain is so much more dominant than most folks give it credit for. Would you be surprised to find out that great self defense moves are not the answer to surviving the streets? Definite, they play a part in protecting yourself from attackers, but they're not the main reason. Knowing your surroundings, being conscious of your surroundings, and knowing where not to gamble at certain times are critical. And also, it's very important to follow your fortitude. If your instinct steers you in one direction, pay attention. It's there to support you in staying safe.
