Hello everyone. I am here to just tell you about the launch of a brand new forum, Security Forums. Staff are consisted of users from Hackforums, including myself, Quiet, and Stxyzth.

We aim to provide a forum that's simple, nice looking, and has all the information you're looking for.

Security Forums is a brand new community that plans on discussing computer security and help people secure their computer.

We are using a licensed version of vBulletin currently. We are in a need for content currently so anyone who joins in and posts some of their tutorials or any type of content would be appreciated. We're all trying our best to post content but we have other things regarding the site to attend to.

We're running an I7 server, 12GB RAM. You should not notice any lag.
We're currently doing an Email promotion, if you'd like an "@securityforums.us" email, just register and post on the thread and I'll set it up for you as soon as possible.

Are you sure you want to use vBulletin? :(. I'm a massive MyBB fanboy.

But other than that, you've set it up well with not too many sections, which is rare. You've also categorized it well and made security the top priority. I recommend posting original articles and content to help with google/SEO. Maybe add some competitions to get some active posters and a small community to get started.
 
Once you have VB it's really nice.. Thats what I've heard.. So dont be knocking it because of the bullentin board..... I think its nicely designed.. And personally I like it... Nice layout simple, and gets to the point.

Get some good content going and you will be set to go!
 
I have become a huge fan of MyBB, but Vbulletin is still nice. Either way, nice site.

I take it you've moved merged to MyBB, that's a good move. I personally, would get a new favicon, the one you are using doesn't fit well with, the white background on the favicon is the worst part. I think the black thead bars look bad, they stand out too much in comparison with the rest of the site, town them down a little.

Other than that, good site, best of luck.
 
I was thinking that too. I want to change the text to black and the color of the thead to the same orange as the menu bar has. I'll hop to it.

Sounds good, always nice to hear a webmaster willing to make change.
 
Thanks for all the feedback.

Just completely finished customizing it. I cannot really think of anything else that must be done besides changing some username colors, adding in icons next to each section, and adding in a custom smiley pack.

Yeah it's alright. The host we were on was insecure. I changed the host about an hour ago so currently we're all good. I also made all admins put their passwords to something like "&%&^T*HBbiunfbnf&^%^&][';:" and notepad it so we are far better now.

I just hopped onto NuclearHost. I was with them before and was very impressed.

The hosting I previously had was NozHosting, and I only had it because I know the co-owner so I got it free. But see where that brings you?

tl;dr Get a paid host that is reliable and has great support, like NuclearHost.

The passwords thing I did is just an extra pre-caution. They should not have to worry about entering in passwords anyway as they can just use Remember Me.
