My school is arranges logo making contest.
Contestant have to make any kind of logo for our school which will be used in webpage and even in exams.
so I haven't posted my entry yet but this is what i thought.

Blue means the river near by our school and the white just fits well in the pic. And now I wan't you to rate it, and possibly how to improve it, or give whole new ideas.

It's easy to say "Make another one" when we are not the ones who make stuff. Definitely I prefer the first one. I think both are good, but the first one is better. I think it cannot be something too elaborated. Anyway try to improve a little more the first one, I cannot say what it needs, but when I look at it, I feel that something is missing.
 

yeah.. i tried to add some lines there but it came bit too messy so i took those off.. i might try to work with it tomorrow again..
 
I prefer the second one, it seems a little more corporate; the first one isn't something I'd expect to see on school papers to parents, for instance.

You might want to try and sort out the anti-aliasing on the river in the second logo though, the pixels seem a little sharp around the curves, and maybe have a thicker font for the school name.

Other than that, I'd suggest posting your entry in plain black and white with just the logo and the name, and in a pretty big resolution along with any full color ones you have.
Having it in black and white, color AND a high resolution gives them a lot more flexibility when finding ways to use it; they'll get much more quality downsizing to the size they need rather than trying to make your logo bigger, which will blur it.

Did you draw the river in the second logo yourself?

The second looks far more professional. I don't like the white background on the first one, excuse me if its not, but if it were to be used in a uniform i hardly see how the white background would fit in with the sweater (or whatever you wear in the uniform)
 
Well second is better than first because you can see that it needed some serious work on it.
 
I making a new one and it will have better quality.
I'm using the same idea as the second one has.
 
I think the 2nd one is more professional...

I would use that one
 
yea second is way better I'm noob in PS'ing but it looks way better, good luck with it

The logo is looking so nice but as you say you make this logo for contest so you need to make it a little bit complex.
 
Well, it's simplicity, and I love simplicity. Blue and white do go well together, and it fits your school logo criteria, so i'd give it 8/10
